YMCA swim lessons emphasize water safety and skill development in a safe environment! We offer group swim lessons and private swim lessons so you can find a class that best fits your needs.

Group Swim Lessons

We offer a variety of group swim lessons for different age groups and skill levels.

Parent & Child Swim Program

Ages 6 months – 3 years

In Swim Starters, infants and toddlers are accompanied by their parents as they learn to be comfortable in the water.

Parents and swimmers learn personal water safety and pre swimming skills through games, songs and activities in the water. One parent or Caregiver needs to be in the water at all times.

Lesson Duration: 30 minutes per lesson

Location: North Campus, South Campus

Beginners Swim Program (Ages 3-5)

Ages 3 – 5 years

Students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning  basic pre swimming skills.

Students are taught the recommended skills including safe water habits, underwater exploration, and how to swim to safety and exit in the event of falling into a body of water. Activities, games, and drills, geared to reinforce learning, are utilized heavily as students progress in this skill-based approach to swimming

Lesson Duration: 30 minutes per lesson

Intermediate Swim Program (6+)

Ages 6+

Students learn personal water safety and achieve swimming competency by learning  swimming skills.

Students are taught the recommended skills including safe water habits, and stroke technique. Activities, games, and drills, geared to reinforce learning, are utilized heavily as students progress in this skill-based approach to swimming.

Lesson Duration: 30 minutes per lesson

Adult Swim Lessons

Ages 18+

This swimming class offers an opportunity to learn and improve your swimming skills. It will help you feel confident in the water by teaching the proper techniques for movement. The class takes place in the shallow end of the pool and provides a supportive environment with other adults who also want to learn to swim.

Lesson Duration: 45 minutes per lesson

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS

Our private swim lessons are designed to help teach water skills and safety. When you opt for a private lesson, you’ll receive personalized, one-on-one coaching from a certified swim instructor who is specially trained in the best safety practices. During your private lesson, you’ll receive all of the instructor’s focus, which can make learning to swim quicker and easier.

Ages: 6 Months +

Lesson Duration: 30 minutes/45 Minutes
