Year-end Message from President & CEO, Mark Hanke

Dear Members,

Greetings. The holidays provide a great time for gratitude and reflection, I want to thank you for being a member and supporter of our YMCA, it’s very much appreciated and never overlooked.

As you know, the charitable work of the Y provides financial assistance to anyone who cannot afford the full cost of programs or membership. Although your membership dues support the facility and operational expenses, it’s not enough to help with those less fortunate who want to belong. We rely on the generosity of members and friends like you, who find it in their hearts to donate, ensuring the Y remains accessible to all and that no one is ever turned away because of the inability to pay.

Let me introduce Kristin and her comments about the Y:

“Security, confidence and growth are just some words describing how my family has changed since the day we first walked into the Naples YMCA. Our family was once burdened with a difficult past, and as a mother, I was broken, praying that someone could help.  I wasn’t confident or even sure I could carry on. But then my life changed, I contacted the YMCA, asked for help and immediately received a scholarship for membership and child care for my two girls. That first day at the Y resulted in immediate friendships, a sense of safety and hope for my family. Now a year later, I am back to work, have many new friends and support because of the Y, and my girls are developing without worry, knowing they have the support and a second home at the YMCA”.

I respectfully ask that while you are planning your end of the year giving, please consider a donation to the Y, so people like Kristin and her family can join and participate without the worry.

Every day at the Y, lives are changed and your donation can help give kids, teens, adults and families a better chance to succeed. Your support makes our YMCA and community stronger because people like Kristin can now find trust and regain hope.

Thank you again for believing in our work at the YMCA and for your thoughtful consideration.

In Service,

Mark Hanke,
President & CEO, Greater Naples YMCA
