Dr. Amy S. Chappell, M.D.
Dr. Chappell, aka “Dr. Amy”, is a board certified neurologist with special competence in child neurology and a board certified lifestyle medicine physician having passed the inaugural board exam of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine in 2017. She graduated from Indiana University Medical School then completed 2 years of pediatrics and an epilepsy fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center after which she returned to Indiana and completed a neurology residency. She was on the full-time faculty in the neurology department of the Indiana University Medical Center until being hired as a clinical research physician by Eli Lilly and Company. She retired from Lilly Research Laboratories in January, 2014, after 25 years in clinical research.
During her career at Lilly Dr. Chappell continued to practice neurology on a volunteer basis as clinical associate professor at the Indiana University Medical Center. She is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, a board member of the American Society of Experimental Neurotherapeutics. and a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Child Neurology Society, the Society of Tennis Medicine and Science and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
In 2014 pursuing a lifelong passion for wellness and physical fitness, Dr. Amy joined the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and became certified as a faciliator for The Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP). She has conducted over 12 CHIP sessions at the YMCA. As previously mentioned Dr. Amy was in the inaugural group of physicians who became certified in lifestyle medicine in 2017. She also is a professional plant-based chef certified by the Rouxbe cooking school.
Dr. Amy is a licensed Florida physician and a full-time resident of Naples. She is married with 2 grown sons.
