High School Apprenticeship Program

The Taste of Immokalee in collaboration with the Naples YMCA and the generosity of the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation will be launching the High School Apprenticeship Program.

As an apprentice with Taste of Immokalee and the YMCA, you will learn what it takes to create a socially responsible business through hands-on learning that is focused on creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication.

Biweekly workshops will be facilitated by business professionals, learning will be enhanced with business trips, and you will have the opportunity to earn a future paid internship position within our company. Program participants gain exposure to key business areas, including:

  • Accounting and finance
  • Research and development
  • Sales and marketing
  • Business technology (IT)
  • Manufacturing
  • Distribution and supply channels
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Public speaking skills

In other words, the High School Apprenticeship Program experience is an extraordinary opportunity for program participants.

Taste of Immokalee is a benefit corporation founded by high school students with a desire to break the cycle of poverty in their community. The student-run social enterprise creates and sells delicious food products inspired by the abundance of fresh produce in Immokalee, and uses the profits to fight poverty in their community.

In partnershp with the Greater Naples YMCA, the program welcomes students from both Immokalee and Naples.

Do you have an interest in business? Are you passionate about making a difference? We seek highly motivated high school students who are hardworking and reliable, eager to learn, determined to succeed, and passionate about creating a better life not only for themselves, but also for those in their community. Apprentices must commit to attend and participate in our biweekly workshops, actively contribute to company goals, and abide by our code of conduct.
